Project Description:

Alternative generation and capture are growing components in the industrial sector.  This existing facility installed a digester system to convert the waste products into energy, and Redpoint’s portion of the work involved a 110,000 gallon hybrid construction hopper bottom equalization wastewater storage tank.

To service the system, the tank utilized an elevated hopper, a style typically reserved for dry material storage.  The tank used a hybrid construction with a field welded hopper incorporated into a bolted tank sidewall and skirt.  The  challenges of staging and sequencing of the work, detailing the correct interface of the opposing tank construction types,  and the complex tank and site specifications were met by Redpoint project management and engineering team.
